leather oil cooler covers was beyond my expectation. I had gotten at least 10 times less value of leather oil cooler covers.
Wow…Never Had This Happen Before. How To Deal?
Well, we’ve got an open stall to fill before winter. Girl came to look at stall. Mousy girl, young (20ish), little pushy but overall seemed okay. I didn’t get the “OMG we’re gonna be BFFs forever” feeling but I didn’t get the impression she’d be a bad boarder either. So, she seemed to like the place, expressed interest, price is right etc. As she was getting ready to leave with a copy of the contract to look it over another boarder pulled up. On his Harley Davidson. Older guy, in his 50’s. Is in a pretty recognizable mid-western biker gang (at least recognizable here, Cincy is where they originated). Covered in tattoos, long pony tail down his back, wears his leathers everywhere (even when riding his Percheron gelding). Typical vision of a scary biker. Nicest guy in the world. Kinda person that would give a stranger the shirt off his back. Also the BO’s son-in-law.So girl has just emailed me saying she really likes the barn, wants to move in…but woah! Isn’t comfortable with a *name of biker gang* and possible *criminal* being on the property. How do I even respond? Do I even try to explain what a good guy he is, and that he family to the BO? Or do I just tell her “…I’m sorry but I do not our barn being a good fit for your situation…” or something along those lines?I’m kinda at a loss. I mean, it could go either way if she boarded there. leather oil cooler covers She might let her guard down and realize he’s just a long-haired old guy that rides an old Shovelhead, reeks of motor oil and has a heart of gold. Or she may be terrified of him and hate her experience at the barn. I dunno. And honestly, I really don’t want to spend a lot of time on this girl soothing her fears and such, or set the barn up for some tense situations. BO is at a show till Wednesday and leaving for another one on Thursday. Don’t say talk it over with her, she told me before she left to fill the stall if I can, collect the deposit, and don’t let any aholes move in (last boarder in this stall was cool but her BF turned out to be a freak who tried to kill one of the barn kitties after fighting with pretty much everyone in the barn). We have a nice, quiet, friendly, laid-back atmosphere at the barn where everyone is friends. Wanna keep it that way. I’m afraid of bringing in someone that’s gonna upset the apple cart. So guide me folks- yeah or neigh on this girl? I’d like to email her back this evening one way or the other. And don’t say make Mr. Biker shave, cut his hair, hide the tattoos and drive a car to the barn. ‘Taint gonna happen. He even rides that thing up in the winter with 2 feet of snow on the ground. Pretty comical watching him come up the drive. She asked for the boarding contract to take with her, I didn’t offer. And the email…I really do think her issue is with his, erm, *look* and affiliation- not an excuse to not board. I didn’t pressure, not my style. Just the facts ma’am, take it or leave it is more or less the way I show the barn.BLW- Dude, the guy is not a criminal. Plain and simple. Never spent a day in jail his whole life. Perfectly normal, functioning member of society. As for the bike, he doesn’t ride it in the damn barnyard. It stays parked in the driveway with the cars. He isn’t chasing the horses out in pasture with it. And I get paid by the BO to make these decisions so I won’t be dumping it in her lap. Her husband just passed from cancer last month, she’s busy with shows, she expects me to take care of this stuff. It’s in my job description. ‘Twas just looking for some guidance before I fired off my email. Thanks for reading the question, but next time try reading for content. And obviously you are biased against bikers, so I feel inclined to tell you that you are missing out on some very nice people with your narrow-minded ways. You must think all are the 1%ers. They are not. Even many members of the 1%er clubs (which he is a member of one) do not live the criminal lifestyle. He is a married man thatsupprots his wife and children, watches his grandkids on the weekends, loves his family and works every day at a very lucrative job building choppers. So try again somewhere else because your stereotypes hold no water with me.
