Any Pirate lovers? Part 1. Please read and see what you think?
The Piratess He looked, looked away, and then did a double take. He couldn’t help but be disgusted; here she was, a young girl, probably British by her accent, who should be in elaborate hairstyles and dresses. Yet she stood there, a pirate on his ship, holding a gun to his head. But he couldn’t help but be intrigued as well. He took her in, her tight black breeches tucked in to knee-high black leather boots and her white shirt, the top three buttons undone, with ruching along the sides of the sleeves and lace on the low neck and waist of her shirt. A black and red bodice covered that, coming up just below her chest, the lacing cinched tightly. She had a belt strapped around her waist holding yet another gun and a rapier. Her boots held one visible dagger, though he suspected more were on her person. Instead of intricate plaits and curls piled atop her head, the piratess’ hair hung freely in dark red waves around her face. Her sleeves were pushed up to the elbow, revealing a small tattoo and a light toffee tan. Her eyes, fierce and bold, were the color of the Caribbean they sailed on.“Call off your crew!” She shouted again over the rage of the battle. “Can’t you see you’re bound to lose?” So, he thought, she figured out I am the captain. But I’m no coward. The girl sighed and cocked the hammer on the gun. He looked around. The pirates were knocking over barrels of gunpowder and oil. A burly man stood holding a torch. His mouth went dry.“C-cease fire and fighting!” he called. “We surrender,” he said quietly but with steel in his eyes. The girl smiled and leather hair cinch led him to the board connecting the two ships. She pushed him over and the crew followed with the surrendered men. She nodded to the man at the wheel and he and the crew hurried to set the ship sailing again. He watched as she nodded to the man with the torch. “Nathaniel.” Nathaniel nodded back and threw the torch. It landed in the middle of his ship. He turned around; he couldn’t watch his own ship go down in flames. The girl pirate shoved him across the deck of the brigantine, but halfway, he dug his heels into the wood and stopped. “I demand to see your captain! You cannot take me, the captain of the ship you just blew up, and not have your captain justify the reason!” He knew this was not necessarily true, but he needed time, he wasn’t ready to join the crew, if they offered, or face the cat o’ nine tails. The girl gave him a roguish, yet charming, smile. “In time, sir, in time.” She tilted her head to Nathaniel again. “Take the captain to the barracks and make him…presentable.” She smiled again. “I will go and tell the captain.” Nathaniel nodded and pushed him down to the hull. She watched him go before shouting out orders to take all the prisoners down to the cells. Then she retreated to the captain’s quarters. The girl closed the door behind her looked around the cabin.“Captain, the prisoner will be here to see you soon. He demanded it.” She laughed lightly. “He’s a defiant one, stubborn and fiery. Hold your resolve when you talk to him.” She spoke to an empty room. Smiling to herself, the girl took up the brush sitting on the bookshelf and began brushing her hair.Half an hour later, the young captain was once again shoved into the captain’s quarters, bathed, shaved, and dressed in a new shirt and breeches. He had a belt strung across his strong chest but it held no weaponry. He glared at Nathaniel before scanning the room. It was a nice polished sitting room with a door leading to the bedroom. It looked almost exactly like an English sitting room. There was a table of food in the center. Standing at the foot of the table was the girl pirate, wearing a floor length cerulean gown, the sleeves cinched at the elbow. Her hair was curled and braided around her head, though some fell loose around her shoulders.“Hello, captain,” she mocked. “As it will not do,” she motioned for him to sit, “to call you ‘captain’ now, would you tell us your name?” She sat after he had situated himself, and smoothed her skirts. He regarded her carefully, then picked up his fork, examining it. “I will tell the captain when he arrives.” The men who had escorted him snickered. No one talked for a span of time. Emmett began to feel uncomfortable. He cleared his throat to say something, but the girl spoke up first.“My dear sir, the captain, ah,” she laughed. “You are looking at your captain, and she goes by the name of Captain Aurelia Calico. Oh, and welcome to The Gold Storm,” the girl at the foot of the table lilted. He looked at her dumbfounded. How could this young girl, slender and delicate in appearance, captain a ship? He had his own measure of problems and he was a man!“I beg your pardon, Captain. They call me Captain Emmet Carden,” he said looking at the figure across the table. There are two more parts.
